This is one of the reasons I love living where I live, we are only short car journeys away from some amazing places and now we have our camping gear, we plan in discovering lots more.
Being Scotland too, it's a country used to mad unpredictable weather, as a parent this means there are loads of things to do with the kids outdoors and indoors.
We took ourselves off to St. Andrews aquarium, three reasons, it's been pretty rainy and kids had cabin fever, we love St. Andrews and we had money off through a local spree fundraising book.
Although the aquarium was small, it had a great variety with the basking shark and the lizards being the main attraction, my boy was not impressed that he could not feed the lemurs or penguins himself however. 4 year old don't understand lemurs would like to eat small fingers.
But the best thing about the day was the impromptu visit to the beach, weather was great, big white clouds in the distance but we are Scottish, wee bit rain doesnae harm yi!
But actually the rain stayed away, very happy to find the kite, a blanket, buckets and spades in the car.
Had a great time, kids got great fresh air echo meant they went to bed without fuss which means happy mummy!
